I lived in Izhevsk. It's a medium-size city in Russia and the capital city in Udmurtia. It has population about six hundred and fifty thousand. Izhevsk really far from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg but near of Kazan. it's 400 km north-east of Kazan and it's 2.000 km south-east of Saint-Petersburg.
Izhevsk is famous for Kalashnikov's museum, Saint Michael's cathedral and big monument which locally people names Kulakova's skis because it is really similar with skis and Galina Kulakova was four times Olympic winner and she was born in Udmurtia.
When I lived in Izhevsk I so hate this town, becouse it looks as industrial city. But I have been there last time city really becomes better. For examples central square designed arhitechers bureau and there walking a lot of tourist and local people now. City has new creative places and cafes
Weather are really cold. Winter continuous about 5-6 mounth. It's really worse than Saint-Petersburg. Although you can see beautiful and snowy forest, if you don't cold.
Izhevsk is similar with other regions city of Russia, but there live my mom and friends. I like come back there.

When I lived in Izhevsk, I hated that city so much because it looks like an industrial city. But the last time I was there, the city really got better. For example, the central square was decorated by an architectural bureau, and now a lot of tourists and locals take walks there. There are new creative places and cafes in town.
